Ambience: 5.5/10 (it was too stuffy and there was no air-conditioning for a HOT day)
After the “light” dessert at Il Pomodoro, we had a stroll in the city and my housemate was craving for some Korean food. She suggested that we should head over to Oriental Spoon which she passes by almost every day without fail. It is a very authentic looking cafe / restaurant with traditional Korean costumes and drums hanging on the walls, serving as decorations.
Immersing oneself in such great ambience and the free flow of sides, especially those kim-chi lovers, one will feel that they are being transported to Korea!
As I was still full from the big bowl of tiramisu earlier, I only ordered dumplings with their special dipping sauce @ $8. On the very first bite, it was a tad too salty but after which it tasted pretty all right. The shapes are intricate and cute. The skin was not too thick, which was great! 😀
My housemate had her favourite beef bowl @ $16. She said it was not bad and colourful with all the different ingredients presented. If only they had given her more beef, it would be wonderful! However, it is not really advisable to enjoy this on a warm day! >.<
The waiter was courteous and friendly. He was asking if we enjoyed our meals while he was clearing our platesand that for a hot day like this, my housemate should have ordered the cold version of the same dish! (Hmmm. Sorry, I ain’t very sure what’s the correct name for it.) However, I think they have put in a bit of effort on their air-conditioning / ventilation and bathrooms! Oopsy!
