After having a heartfelt dinner at Sake, we were craving for some ice cream even though it had been raining on and off for the whole day. L and his gf recommended that we should try the ice cream at French Riviera as they are made differently from the general Italian gelato on the market and superbly delicious! All the ice cream are freshly made on site every day and they open till late! (On a side note, I stumbled upon the renowned and world-famous Tetsuya’s restaurant while on our way to FR! Tetsuya’s is at the top of my wish list currently. Can’t wait to try it…)

The layout of FR is simple and welcoming. Bright and contrasting colours of red and black; appealing pictures of many popular items from their menu were plastered on the window panes too.I ordered a scoop of vanilla ice cream (the serving was verrrrryyy GENEROUS). It did not have the artificial colouring and it was indeed unqiue from all the other vanilla (or french vanilla) ice cream that I have tasted so far. It was not sweet at all and it had this light, natural vanilla fragrance to it.

L and his gf ordered this massive bowl of ice cream, Helene, which was larger than my head, I reckon! Even though it was yummy, they could not finish it due to its enormous serving.

A great alternative to the standard Italian fare that you get on the market. Less sugar = more reasons and less guilt when indulging in this sinful aroma! πŸ˜€

  1. Wow, you certainly had a better experience than me! The last time i went, we ordered one of their giant towers. The icecream and sorbets were generally not bad [althought there was on flavour which was kinda gross; I think it was the rum and raisin]. We didn’t really find the icecream flavours all that inspiring though.

    • The pictures of the giant towers were intimidating! I only had a scoop of vanilla icecream but how bad can vanilla go right? πŸ˜€ But I have to agree that they do not have many flavours. >.<
