REVIEW

German food is kind of something that I rarely have. So flipping through the entertainment book, we realised that we have a voucher for Hofbrauhaus yet to be utilised!

H is situated opposite of Shoya and Flowerdrum on Market Lane. They are currently open for business in the new wing while renovation work is underway on the old site which is just next door! Once entering the main door, you could hear the lively music playing upstairs while the bar operates on the lower level. Continue reading

REVIEW

Hotel Windsor has been hailed as the ‘IT’ place for afternoon teas and it has been serving up such finery since 1883! Amazing huh. So, when there was a Scoopon promotion recently, I grasped the chance and got myself a coupon to indulge in some long awaited delicacy. Continue reading

Ramen Ya has been on the top of my list all this time while I search high and low for some good old authentic Japanese ramen. To my amazement this year, while walking along Lonsdale Street, I came across Kokoro Ramen. It is a swanky new Japanese ramen store with an interesting range and variety of ramen and soup bases (just like how they do it in Japan!). With this new kid on the block, I reckon the older establishments are having a run for their money. Continue reading

Unlikely Delight at Kimurakan!

RESTAURANT SUMMARY

Kimurakan

238 Little Bourke Street, Melbourne Vic 3000

Phone: 03 9650 2038

REVIEW

Craving for some affordable Japanese goodies? Then head over to Kimurakan! It might not have an appealing shop front or extensive menu. However, with the quality and the price you pay, it is definitely worth a walk to Chinatown. It is situated right near the section connecting to Swanston street. To be honest, I have visited K several times prior to this entry (sorry, I know I should have shared this pretty little secret with my readers earlier… =x) Another note, they have done a mini revamp to the restaurant recently, giving it a fresh and clean feel. REVIEW

Sorry for the lack of updates as I was busy with my parents’ visit! Thank you very much for the continual support! 😀

Having walked past Le Bangkok several times and hearing great things about it, we decided to head down for a dose of authentic Thai food! LB does not have a colourful or tacky facade like other Thai eateries have in Melbourne but it kinda pulled me in with its ‘homely’ and more classy ambience.

We started the night with a glass of Long Island iced tea each and a serve of their Roti Bread with Satay sauce. The presentation was fantastic: each piece of roti was folded nicely, making up a flower; satay sauce was thick and nutty, just the way I adore. Continue reading

Authenticity at Coconut House!

RESTAURANT SUMMARY

Coconut House

449 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne Vic 3000

REVIEW

Coconut House has been on my list for quite some time but have yet to give it a try until now. They have opened another shop two doors down to facilitate the ever-growing crowd. CH markets itself as one that serves authentic Malaysian street food at affordable prices, (maybe that is the reason why they are so popular!) Continue reading
