REVIEW

P wanted to have some pasta so the first restaurant that I thought of is +39 Pizzeria. As it was a Saturday night, by the time we got there around 7.30, it was already full. The guy told us that we have to wait until 9.30 for a seat! Since we could not be bothered to wait for 2 hours (mind you, it doesn’t guarantee you a seat as I put down my number and nobody called me at the stipulated time), we headed to Spaghetti Tree.

When we walked in, we were mesmerized by the pretty decorations and the live music played by this cute old man. He was good on the keyboard and violin and he managed to heighten the spirits of all the diners at ST! 🙂 We were seated at this cosy corner near the bar and the charismatic Italian waiter came by almost immediately to give us the menu. There was a sizeable selection of several Italian favourites. P selected the old traditional Italian Bolognese @ $19. The portion was huge with generous serving of the meat. P mentioned that it was nice.

J ordered Linguini with Meatballs @ $19.50. The meatballs were succulent and tender, not those dry and MSG-filled ones at IKEA. The linguini were rather narrow, they should be thicker! The sauce was great too.

I had the LASAGNA @ $20. I pictured it as those distinctive layers and smeared with minced meat and sauce on each layer. However, I was given a plate of something that was covered with tons and tons of meat! I couldn’t even see the pasta anywhere! The first mouthful was kind of overpowering and sour towards the end bit but it was simply too filling overall.

We also ordered Bruschetta @ $8. The tomatoes on top were juicier and tastier than the normal ones we get from the supermarkets! The bread was crispy and the whole mix of different textures just burst right through your mouth.

I love the live music and the ambience at ST! It was so enjoyable and joyous to have music while you dine….. Even though the food was nothing extraordinary, I might just return to listen to the talented old man making music on his instruments.
